More than half of Annual Meeting attendees come from countries outside of the United States. Learn more about travel, visas, and other frequently asked questions.
In order to speed up processing of checked baggage, TSA is encouraging attendees to pack larger quantities of brochures and thick books into carry-on bags instead of checked bags. This will allow for faster processing of the larger quantity of bags that are generating by large conventions.

We advise all travelers to allow extra time to get through airport security. The Chicago Department of Aviation supports the TSA PreCheck program as a means to expedite getting through security checkpoints.
Several ground transportation options are available for Meeting attendees. Chicago's airports—O'Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport—offer shuttle services to all official ASCO hotels through various services.
Go Airport Express is the premier shared ride airport shuttle for Chicago’s O'Hare and Midway Airports and convention centers. They offer efficient and economical shared ride services, express luxury sedans, and limo services, as well as a complete line of charter vehicle services. Visit their ticket counters located in each of the airport’s baggage claim areas. Shuttles depart from O'Hare and Midway Airports every 10-15 minutes for Downtown Chicago Hotels. Airport Express Service from McCormick Place to O'Hare and Midway runs every 30 minutes.

Attendees may also purchase shuttle tickets onsite at the Go Airport Express Desk in McCormick Place. Location and hours will be posted closer to the Meeting.
Complimentary shuttle service is provided between McCormick Place and official ASCO hotels.
The shuttle operates each day from 6:45 AM-7:00 PM. The last shuttle departs McCormick Place at 7:00 PM.
Pre-Annual Meeting Educational Programs
ASCO is offering evening/return shuttle service between McCormick Place and select hotels on May 31, 2018, from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM to accommodate attendees who have registered for a Pre-Annual Meeting Educational Program. All shuttles will depart from the South Building, Gates 1-4.
The approximate fare from O'Hare International Airport to the downtown area is $50, and $30 from Midway International Airport.
Chicago has an array of rideshare options. Uber, Lyft, Arro, and Curb are all approved to pick up directly at McCormick Place. Passenger Pick Up areas vary per airport. Pick up locations at McCormick Place are in the South Building and East buildings.
Metra and CTA
Chicago offers two options for public transportation: Metra and the CTA. Trains operate on a fixed schedule with frequent service during peak times. The closest Metra stop is inside McCormick Place, and the closest CTA stop is the Cermak/McCormick Place Station stop. The CTA blue line train provides service to and from O’Hare and Midway.
McCormick Place is part of the City of Chicago Bike Sharing System called Divvy. A 24-hour pass can be purchased at Divvy Bike station for a day of unlimited 30-minute trips.
McCormick Place has three parking lots available for attendee use, and information about for the two most convenient lots (Lot A and Lot C) is listed below. Please note that ASCO Annual Meeting attendees do not receive discounted parking fares.
