ASCO Makes Earning MOC Points Easy

Core Session MOC Self-Assessment Activity
Building on last year's success, ASCO is again offering the Core Session MOC Self-Assessment Activity, an easy way for meeting attendees to earn MOC points for learning already being perused. Use this activity as a tool to refresh your knowledge, update your skills, or prepare for your board certification examination.
How Does it Work?
  1. Take an Online Pre-Test. This 30-question self-assessment is designed to identify knowledge gaps within a variety of cancer topics.
  2. Get a personalized list of Annual Meeting Sessions to Attend. Based on how you score on the pre-test, ASCO provides you with a personalized list of Core Sessions to attend while you are at the Meeting to help fill your knowledge gaps.
  3. Take an Online Post-Test. Once the 30-question post-test is successfully completed, you will be eligible to claim 10 MOC points in Self-Assessment of Medical Knowledge. Data and scores can be sent directly to ABIM.

Interested in Participating?
Register by Friday, May 16th. Beginning the week of May 19th, ASCO will send you a link to the pre-test.

Note: The Core Session MOC Self-Assessment Activity is a separate activity from the MOC and Lifelong Learning Workshop.

Maintenance of Certification and Lifelong Learning Workshop
This is a three and a half hour interactive session that will use audience-response technology to review one ABIM medical oncology SEP module. Each of the module’s 30 multiple choice questions will be reviewed through detailed group discussion led by expert faculty. At the completion of the session, ABIM diplomats will be able to submit their answers to the ABIM for Maintenance of Certification credit.

This session is designed to support oncologists maintaining their certification through the ABIM’s Maintenance of Certification program. Registration for this session is open to all Meeting attendees; however, those enrolled in the Maintenance of Certification process will receive first priority.

The Maintenance of Certification and Lifelong Learning session will take place on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 1:00 PM - 4:30PM and utilize ABIM 2013 Update in Medical Oncology module.

Please keep in mind the following:
  • The Core Session MOC Self-Assessment Activity, ticketed sessions and Pre-AM Seminars require additional registration.
  • Early registration is encouraged, as attendance in these sessions is limited.
